Whenever one recognizes a duty or an obligation, or is in situations in which is it appropriate to speak of what ought to be done or what it is right to do, ethics is somehow involved. Of course, it may be difficult to determine what duty requires or what one is obligated to do, but the presence of ethics is usually undeniable.

Every firm must have a capital structure in which its total capital is divided between equity, debt, and other types of obligations.
